I already have a domain name, can I transfer it to your servers?
Yes, you can easily transfer your domain name to our servers. Upon account signup a domain transfer sheet will be filled out and e-mailed to you, free of charge. All that you have to do is e-mail exactly what we send you to
your appropriate domain registrar and your domain should be routed within 48 hours. ^
I don't have a domain name yet, how can I get one?
vs3 will register a new domain name for you and configure the name servers for free!. Internet Domain Registrars will charge you $60 for two years of domain name service. We fill out all of the contact and server information, configure the name servers, and submit that information to IDR.

Are adult sites allowed?
Due to incredibly high traffic patterns, adult websites are not allowed on our servers. The official policy is as stated below :
Adult-oriented sites, designed for entertainment or commercial purposes, are not allowed on vs3 servers. Forbidden sites include those that provide access to pornographic materials, whether for free or for payment, regardless of whether adult verification is used or not.
Exceptions are made for educational sites, sites providing only links to other sites, and text materials of an adult nature, although we reserve the right to make further restrictions as necessary.

How much does a domain name cost?
We register our domain names through the Internet Domain Registry. Their fee for a .COM, .NET, or .ORG domain name is $60 for two years of service. Some companies charge an additional $50-$100 for domain handling; we do this for free.

If I don't want domain name hosting, can I still host with vs3?
If you do not want to pay domain name registration fees, you can still host with us on a vanity domain name such as "www.YourName.vs3.net" . This is a new setup and has not been officially announced, if you would like to signup for this account please
e-mail the sales department.

Do I need to dial long distance to connect to the servers?
No, absolutely not. You can login to the servers with your current Internet Service Provider by using FTP. If you do not have an FTP program, we recommend the shareware
WS_FTP for Windows 95. A sales representative for vs3 will be glad to help you get setup and learn how to use it. ^
How much for more disk space?
More disk space can be purchased for 20 cents per megabyte per month. Note- all new accounts now include
100 mb of disk space! ^
How is additional bandwidth charged?
Additional bandwidth is billed at $.40/month for each megabyte increase in
the daily average. All accounts include 100 megabytes of transfer per day. ^
Can I pay with my credit card?
Is the use of CGI applications on my site permitted?
No, personal cgi-bin access is not allowed with the Basic account. However, any account can use counters, mail forms, and
guestbooks publicly available on the Internet for free. These are hosted on other servers, if you need help finding one please e-mail us.

Do you provide dial-up accounts?
We do not provide dialup access. You must already have access to the Internet in order to make use of our services. What we do provide, however, is Web hosting and related services that are superior to anything offered by your dialup ISP (who is typically trying to make up for the fact that they're losing money on dialup services).
